Mother Sentenced For Child Death | News

SUNBURY — A mother in Northumberland County will spend up to five years in prison in connection with the death of her baby in 2010.

Heidi Yocum from Lewisburg was sentenced Monday.

Yocum and the baby’s father pleaded guilty in November, 2011 to endangering the welfare of a child.

Investigators said the father put his one-year-old daughter down for a nap next to a space heater at a home in Sunbury in 2010. No one checked on the little girl for more than 24 hours.

Authorities said the baby overheated and died.
